It has been 15 years since the American College Board recognized Chinese and Japanese AP courses, but only Korean language AP courses are not being adopted. The Foundation for Korean Language and Culture in USA, which has introduced Korean culture to the mainstream society, has established a Korean language class in regular schools, and was the foundation for establishing the first SAT II Korean 23 years ago, prepared a petition drive for the establishment of AP Korean, a long-cherished wish of Koreans. Now that the SAT II test for all subjects, including Korean, has been abolished, we are petitioning all Korean-Americans, students, parents, educators, teachers, education administrators, expatriates at the Korean Embassy and Consulate in the United States, Korean-American Senators and Representatives, and friends of non-Korean ancestry. We ask that you actively participate in the drive. The next generation of students will grow into global citizens through Korean language education, creating a better America and a better world.
