Summer Program in Korea Scholarship for Korean Class Students

This 17-day summer program in Korea is for selected 37 outstanding middle and high school students who are currently enrolled in Korean language classes. The program offers the participants many opportunities to experience and spend quality time with Korean families. The selected students would be responsible for airfare and the rest is sponsored by the Foundation.

-Program’s Period: 17 days
-Eligibility: 7th Grade~11th Grade
-Program fee: TBA includes everything such as tuition, room and board, meals, field trips, special activities, health insurance, and textbooks
-Special features of the Program:
• American school teachers will supervise, counsel, and stay with students in the dormitory.
• Kyunghee University and other University students will join the program and serve as big brothers and sisters to program participants.
• Room and board at a fully-equipped modern dormitory (two persons per room)
• Class assignment in accordance with age and Korean proficiency
• Various special activities in the evening and weekends
• Various cultural experience and classes with professors and experts in the respective fields (e.g., Korean History, Korean etiquette and Korean crafts)
• Intensive lesson (6 sessions) of Taewondo, or Samulnori with no extra charge
• Field trips with no extra charge (e,g., Independence Hall, the Pamnunjeom Truce Village, Everland, Sosu Seowon, Sosu Museum, Seonbi Culture Training Center, Buseoksa Temple, Hahoe Folk Village, Hahoe Mask Museum, National Museum of Korea, the War Memorial of Korea, and Gyeongbok Palace)
• Bus ride from and to Incheon International Airport with no extra charge
• U.S citizens can enter Korea without a Korean visa for a stay of up to 30 days.
