Workshops/Conferences for Korean Language Teachers

The Foundation organizes and sponsors intensive workshops for elementary, middle and high school teachers of Korean language and cultures twice a year.

Typically, the 9-day summer workshop takes place in Korea, whereas the 3-day winter workshop is held in Los Angeles.

These workshops are designed to improve Korean language teachers teaching and class management skills, as well as knowledge about the history, culture, people, economy, and contemporary issues of the Korean and Korean American societies.

Through these workshops, Korean language teachers are exposed to various teaching techniques that are effective and appropriate for American elementary, middle and high school students and available resources for language and cultural instruction.

The workshops consist of five types of sessions: (1) lectures; (2) demonstration of innovative teaching methods; (3) field trips; and (4) mentorship for new teachers; and (5) networking and information sharing.
