Scholarships for Korean Class Students

Beginning in 2002, the Foundation added a scholarship program to its existing activities and has since offered a variety of types of scholarships with differing award amounts and qualification requirements.

The four types of scholarships are as follows:

This 20-day summer program in Korea is for selected 30 outstanding middle and high school students who are currently enrolled in Korean language classes. The program offers the participants many opportunities to experience and spend quality time with Korean families. The selected students would be responsible for airfare and the rest is sponsored by the Foundation.

(2) King Sejong Award ($200, for 20-30 students)
To acknowledge and reward excellence and industry of students who are currently enrolled in Korean language classes at their middle and high schools.

(3) Hun Min Jung Eum Award ($100, for 40-55 students)

(4) New Community Leadership Award ($100, for 10 students)

These scholarships are awarded to approximately 100 middle and high school students. Each applicant should consult with his or her Korean language teacher to select the most appropriate scholarship. Please refer to the website or newspaper ad for detailed information each year.
